Day 1- Šmarješke Toplice
Upon disembarkation in Zadar start the tour with transfer to NP Plitvice. Have your camera ready and as you take a walking tour around several of the lower lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder of 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation. After lunch in local restaurant continue towards Slovenia, to a spa resort Šmarješke toplice.
Day 2- Šmarješke Toplice
Breakfast in hotel, then lesiure activities for the day. You can either enjoy a round of golf on one of the best courses in Slovenia. Built in two phases, now there are 18 holes, following Howard Swan’s design. Covering 75 ha along the river Krka it is the best substitute for what once were castle grounds. Or you can enjoy yourself in the spa section of the hotel. (none included in the package price)
In the evening transfer to the nearby Otočec castle for a gourmet dinner in the castle restaurant. After dinner transfer to hotel for overnight.
Day 3- Bled
After having breakfast in the hotel you will transfer towards Škofja Loka. After brief sighseeing tour with you tour director enjoy and individual lunch. Proceed to Bled. Upon arrival to Bled enjoy a walk around the lake and relax.
Day 4- Bled
After breakfast in the hotel, you will sightsee with a pletna boat ride to the island in the middle of the lake. As per local beliefs the bell of the Church of Assumption has magical powers, so feel free to make a whish and ring it. We will proceed to Bohinj where we will visit the Sheppard museum and enjoy some local cheese tasting. The balance of the day is at leisure, free for individual activities. In the evening we will head to Bled castle to enjoy in the monument and have dinner in this unique restaurant.
Day 5- Bled
Breakfast in hotel, then you take a trip to to the oldest golf course in Slovenia. It was first opened in 1937 on demand of then Yugoslav king Aleksander Karadjordjević who choose Bled for his summer residence. The course was abandoned during Second World War and reopened and redesigned in 1974 when the blueprints signed Donald Harradine.
For those who do not want to play golf you can join the optiona excursion to Radovljica.
Afternoon is free at leisure for enjoying the spa facilities the hotel has to offer.
Day 6- Ljubljana
After breakfast transfer to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. During a walking tour you will visit the most significant sights of the old city center the picturesque open-air Central Market, the Three Bridges, Baroque Town Hall and Robba’s Fountain. We will also take the funicular up to Ljubljana castle. Rest of day is free at leisure to enjoy Ljubljana on your own. In the evening you will enjoy dinner in one of the local restaurants.
Day 7- Piran
After breakfast we head back to the south. Our first stop is Postojna, home to one of the largest caves in Europe. Tour the fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train. Afterward, continue to Predjama where we visit the famous castle. Next stop is to medieval coastal pearl Piran. Enjoy the evening in town in your own pace.
Day 8- Piran
Breakfast, then you will be guided through the narrow streets of Piran from your tour leader. After some free time for lunch we will proceed to Sečovlje saltpans where they are still producing the salt the old school style – by hand. The way will lead us to Portorož, the biggest resort town on Slovenian coast. After some free time there we will return to Piran for dinner in local restaurant and overnight.
Day 9- Venice
After breakfast transfer to the Tronchetto Station in Venice. A private water taxi will bring you to a dock nearby the hotel. Balance of the day is free for you to explore the city on your own.
Day 10- Venice
Breakfast at the hotel then a free day for leisure activities.
Day 11- End of Itinerary
Breakfast, then transfer to the airport to meet your flight home.
