Ladies Spirit of the Kimberley
Day 1- Darwin
Arrival in Darwin, meeting with your tour director. You will enjoy a private sunset cruise on Darwin Harbour. Transfer to dine at Pee Wee’s, which is located at your hotel. Later on, visit the Botanical Gardens, then back to Mantra Pandanus for the night.
Day 2- Kununurra
After breakfast, you will transfer to the Darwin Domestic airport to Kununurra. After an early lunch, once arrived at Kununurra, you will board a private aeroplane for a scenic flight over Lake Kununurra, Diversion Dam, Ord River Irrigation Area and other beautiful locations. An exhilarating 30 minute helicopter ride will take place after landing at Bellburn airfield, so you can have a low-level aerial view of places such as Cathedral Gorge, Deep Gorge and Piccaninny Gorge & Creek.
In the afternoon you will join your escort for a tour out to Carlton Hill Station. Enjoy drinks and canapés as you admire a stunning sunset then feast on a succulent barbeque dinner before heading back to Kununurra, overnight at The Kimberley Grande.
Day 3- El Questro
Early in the morning you will be treated to a private viewing at Kimberley Fine Diamonds, where you can take a look at rare pink diamonds only to be found in that area. Afterwards, you will transfer to El Questro, where you can settle into your accommodation, El Questro Homestead.
After lunch, head out for a private boating tour of the Chamberlain River. This will be accompanied by champagne and sliced melons. Dine in the elegant Homestead dining room this evening, and for entertainment in the evening you will be invited to feed the wildlife, including crocodiles, barramundi and turtles.
Day 4- El Questro
Enjoy breakfast, then saddle up to take part of an educational horse-back tour. Gourmet lunch by the pool, then a magical hide-away tour to thermal pools, tucked away amongst sheer cliffs. Dine out under the stars overlooking the Chamberlain River then back to the accommodatio for the night.
Day 5- Home Valley Station
Traverse the Gibb River Road by private 4WD to Home Valley Station after breakfast. On arrival at Home Valley Station you will be welcomed by local Aboriginal guides, before settling in to your Grass Castle – Home Valley’s premium level of accommodation. Time to explore the Homestead surrounds or simply rest on the veranda with a cool drink enjoying views over the idyllic Bindoola Creek.
In the afternoon you will take an orientation drive with your host around the station to experience the scenery. You are welcome to view the Indigenous Arts Gallery and meet the Home Valley Station trainees.
Dinner tonight is in the Dusty Bar & Grill, enjoying live country music and authentic Kimberley entertainment including stories from the Dreamtime with local Aboriginal Elders. Stay overnight at Home Valley Station.
Day 6- Home Valley Station
Breakfast is presented as room service to your private veranda prior to an exciting Mini Muster cattle handling experience. Either ride horseback or travel in the Station’s Bull Catcher vehicle as Station Ringer’s educate guests on the methods and techniques used when mustering cattle. Lunch is served at the Dusty Bar & Grill with some time to rest before the adventure continues. Today’s afternoon activity is a tranquil canoe ride exploring the Bindoola Creek upstream to the start of an exciting “rock-hopping” bush walk that leads guests into the Bindoola Gorge to reveal the thriving aquatic ecosystem beneath ancient sandstone cliffs. Here you are free to swim, soak and explore. Alternatively, you may prefer to be driven by 4WD a short distance to the larger Bindoola Falls section of the Gorge, offering little difficulty to access enormous waterfalls and safe swimming pools carved within the ancient rock formations.
Returning in time to relax and refresh in climate-controlled comfort ahead of an exquisite Champagne Sunset Tour at a private lookout. Your guide will tell historical anecdotes and geological information as you take in the breathtaking view over the majestic Cockburn Range. Back at the Homestead dine al fresco. After-dinner entertainment includes the expert handling of Home Valley’s friendly pet pythons or a joey, bush poetry recitals and nightly campfire entertainment.
Day 7- Broome
After breakfast transfer by private 4WD to the Kununurra airport. On arrival into Broome, transfer to your The Cable Beach Club.
In the afternoon enjoy a private tour of Pearling Town, including a chance to view a dinosaur footprint over 130 million years old and the Japanese Cemetery, the final resting place for over 900 Japanese pearl divers. This evening enjoy a one hour sunset camel ride – a relaxing and informative journey along the beautiful white sands of Cable Beach. Dinner tonight is a casual poolside meal in the Kimberley Carvery.
Day 8- Broome
Enjoy a breakfast at the Sunset Café, then trasnfer to Broome airport for a half day tour by air and sea. Fly direct from Broome to the Horizontal Falls. After a scenic flight to reach Talbot Bay, the jet will land on the calm waters where you will be transferred to a new fast boat Jet Waverider and experience first hand the incredible tidal power of this natural phenomenon. On the return journey, flying at 500ft, you will be treated to views of the Buccaneer Archipelago. Your afternoon is at your leisure in Cable Beach.
Day 9- Broome
Today enjoy the fabulous landscape of Roebuck Bay aboard a hovercraft. Stop on the tidal flats beside the Flying Boat wrecks and meander amongst them whilst learning the amazing history of their demise during the Second World War.
Early evening, enjoy a natural phenomenon called ‘The staircase to the Moon’; a beautiful optical illusion of a staircase of light reaching across the water to the moon. It only occurs a few times a year!
Day 10- Broome
Today enjoy a private champagne store viewing and presentation “Pearling— Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” by local proprietor Bill Reed of Linney’s Pearls. This evening, farewell your new found friends at a special dinner.
Day 11- End of Itinerary
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
Optional Cruise
Your 10-night journey is at an end but an exciting optional adventure is possible. Hop aboard Kimberley Quest II and cruise the crystal clear waters as you explore the rugged but exquisitely beautiful coastline of North Western Australia.
